We are seeking a Campus Network Engineer to support VA LAN CCT, ensuring robust network operations and seamless implementations across campus environments.
Position Summary
As a Campus Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and maintaining large-scale campus network environments. This includes switch implementations, migrations, troubleshooting across OSI layers 1–3, automation support, and vendor collaboration. The role requires significant travel (up to 75%) and hands-on expertise with Juniper networking solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Configure and validate Campus Switches for new installations, migrations, and upgrades.

Troubleshoot network issues (Layers 1–3) using CLI and Web UI.

Support fault diagnosis, network health assessments, and software infrastructure checks.

Implement migration and cutover plans, including scripted procedures and Go/No-Go criteria.

Develop and update network diagrams, documentation, and installation records.

Conduct equipment testing, follow test plans, and document results.

Open and manage OEM TAC/RMA cases with vendors.
-
Collaborate with team leads and Resident Engineers (RE) on escalated problems.

Provide knowledge transfer and contribute to outage root cause analysis.

Support automation tool testing and bulk data import processes.

Travel onsite (domestic and limited overseas) for installations, testing, and training.
Required Qualifications
-
5+ years of hands-on experience with access switch implementation in large campus networks.

Strong understanding of the OSI Model (Layers 1–3).

Proficient in troubleshooting end-device connectivity issues via CLI and Web UI.

Experience with Juniper software; Juniper Mist Web UI preferred.

Knowledge of EVPN-VXLAN, IP Clos architecture, and Edge Routed Bridging a plus.

Strong communication, documentation, and multi-tasking skills.

Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Willingness to travel up to 75%; proximity to a regional or international airport required.

Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass VA HIGH BI clearance and background checks.

Must hold a Real ID driver’s license.

Must pass (company-paid) two-stage Tuberculosis (TB) testing.
Preferred Certifications

JNCIA-ENT certification (preferred).

Other networking certifications a plus.
