Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Department Director and supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, the Echocardiograph Technologist (Echo Tech) is responsible for performing clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures in accordance with department standards.
This role involves working with patients across all age groups, from infants to geriatric populations. Additionally, the Echo Tech serves as a customer service representative, interacting with patients, families, the public, and medical staff while actively contributing to quality control initiatives and organizational improvements. The position also includes serving as a clinical and technical resource for less experienced sonographers.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct Echocardiographic Procedures following department protocols for diverse patient populations.

Ensure High-Quality Imaging to support accurate diagnoses and optimal patient outcomes.

Engage with Patients & Families by explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort.

Contribute to Quality Improvement through participation in quality control initiatives.

Collaborate with the Medical Team to provide patient-centered, whole-person care.

Mentor & Support less experienced sonographers as a technical resource.
Required Qualifications
Education & Training:
-
Graduate of a cardiac echocardiography program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association, OR
-
Equivalent education and experience, including self-study or on-the-job training.
Licenses & Certifications (Required Upon Hire):

National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography OR
-
National Certification – Cardiovascular Credentialing International
-
BLS Certification – American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
-
National Certification in Cardiac Echocardiography, Color Doppler, and Stress Testing (from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).

Experience as a hospital-based sonographer.
