About the Job – Nuclear Pharmacist (Cardinal Health, Birmingham, AL)

Overview:
Cardinal Health is a global leader in healthcare, providing pharmaceuticals, medical products, and performance solutions. Our Nuclear Pharmacy team ensures the safe, efficient preparation and delivery of radiopharmaceuticals under strict federal and state guidelines. As a Nuclear Pharmacist, you’ll play a vital role in patient care and support the safe use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and treatment.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 hours/week

  • Rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call

  • Flexibility required for overtime, early/late shifts, and travel

Salary Range: $102,800 – $154,245 (based on location, experience, and skills)
Bonus Eligible: No

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense nuclear medications, ensuring quality and safety

  • Manage inventory, place orders, and source alternatives when needed

  • Oversee pharmacy workflow, staffing, and scheduling

  • Participate in strategic planning to improve efficiency and growth

  • Maintain customer relationships and provide occasional dose deliveries

  • May serve as Pharmacist in Charge if needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or PharmD degree in Pharmacy

  • Valid state pharmacist license or eligibility

  • Willingness to travel locally and support nearby pharmacies

  • Valid driver’s license; able to lift up to 75 lbs and drive in all weather

  • Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills

  • Prior Authorized User certification preferred (training provided if needed)
