Summary of Role

As a Carpenter, you will construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard. You’ll use a wide range of hand tools and power tools while ensuring all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans.

  • Build footings, walls, columns, decks, partitions, stairs, and cabinets.

  • Set anchor bolts, metal studs, and install metal door and window frames.

  • Construct forms and chutes for concrete pouring.

  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for elevated work.

  • Install safety cables and railing.

  • Perform additional construction-related tasks as assigned.

Education / Skill Requirements

  • Ability to work within precise limits and accuracy standards.

  • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.

  • Select and operate proper tools for each task.

  • Ability to distinguish differences in size, shape, and form of objects.

  • Must be able to:

    • Climb and balance on scaffolds and ladders

    • Lift and carry up to 100 lbs

    • Reach, handle, and manipulate materials

    • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regular climbing, balancing, lifting, and manual handling of materials (up to 50 lbs).

  • Work may be performed in office, cubicle, workstation, or active jobsite environments.
