Carpenter

Bethesda is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to support facility operations through skilled repair, preventive maintenance, and safety practices. This role ensures residents and staff benefit from a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Notify supervisor of facility concerns, supply shortages, or equipment needs.

  • Procure, document, and account for parts, supplies, and materials.

  • Complete general painting, small construction, minor plumbing, and electrical repairs.

  • Update and close work orders using the VERN system.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in working order.

  • Drive company vehicles for deliveries and pick-ups, following safety standards.

  • Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance; document findings accurately.

  • Resolve safety hazards promptly and suggest improvements to safety programs.

  • Assist in budget planning and equipment evaluations.

  • Follow OSHA and Bethesda Health Group safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Class E driver’s license.

  • 2+ years of experience in plumbing, electrical, painting, and light construction.

  • Trade school training preferred but not required.

  • Experience remodeling homes/apartments (tear out to move-in ready).

  • Public-facing work experience and strong customer service.

  • Computer skills (spreadsheets and word processing).

  • Ability to lift/move 100 lbs, work in confined spaces, and tolerate noise, chemicals, and outdoor conditions.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to problem-solve independently.
