About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter-Painter to join our hospital facilities team. This full-time, day shift position involves performing both carpentry and painting tasks to ensure a safe, functional, and visually appealing environment that supports patient care and hospital operations.

Carpentry Responsibilities

  • Construct, install, and repair woodwork, cabinetry, doors, windows, partitions, and other structural elements.

  • Perform finish carpentry including molding, trim, and hardware installation.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders.

  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Complete preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on hospital infrastructure.

Painting Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming.

  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.

  • Mix and match paint colors as needed.

  • Maintain painting tools and equipment.

  • Follow ventilation and safety procedures during all painting operations.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.

  • Collaborate with other trades and departments for efficient project completion.

  • Follow infection control and hospital safety regulations.

  • Respond quickly to maintenance requests.

  • Keep work areas clean and organized.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in carpentry and painting, preferably in healthcare or institutional settings.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in carpentry and painting tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed work.

Work Environment

  • Work performed across hospital facilities, including patient care areas, offices, and exterior grounds.

  • Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and chemicals related to carpentry and painting.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
