About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter-Painter to join our hospital facilities team. This full-time, day shift position involves performing both carpentry and painting tasks to ensure a safe, functional, and visually appealing environment that supports patient care and hospital operations.
Carpentry Responsibilities

Construct, install, and repair woodwork, cabinetry, doors, windows, partitions, and other structural elements.

Perform finish carpentry including molding, trim, and hardware installation.

Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders.

Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Complete preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on hospital infrastructure.
Painting Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming.

Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.

Mix and match paint colors as needed.

Maintain painting tools and equipment.

Follow ventilation and safety procedures during all painting operations.
General Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.

Collaborate with other trades and departments for efficient project completion.

Follow infection control and hospital safety regulations.

Respond quickly to maintenance requests.

Keep work areas clean and organized.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 3 years of experience in carpentry and painting, preferably in healthcare or institutional settings.
Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in carpentry and painting tools.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Effective communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements

Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.

Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed work.
Work Environment

Work performed across hospital facilities, including patient care areas, offices, and exterior grounds.

Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and chemicals related to carpentry and painting.
