Role Summary
The Carpenter 1 is responsible for performing general carpentry and concrete work on commercial construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and other project types. This role includes rough and finish carpentry, form setting, and concrete placement while working with a variety of tools and equipment. All work will be completed in alignment with JE Dunn’s values, safety standards, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Perform concrete tasks including setting forms, placing, and finishing concrete.

Handle rough and finish carpentry, including framing, forming, and blocking.

Install safety railings, temporary partitions, doors, and hardware.

Maintain and use all required carpentry and concrete tools.

Adhere to OSHA and JE Dunn safety standards with consistent PPE compliance.

Support project teams by working accurately, efficiently, and safely.
Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of carpentry and concrete tools with ability to use and maintain personal hand tools.

Basic understanding of layout, measurements, and construction math.

Ability to read and follow directions, blueprints, and specifications.

Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

0–2 years of carpentry or commercial construction experience (preferred).

High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade training preferred.
Working Environment

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Comfortable working at heights, in trenches, or confined/narrow spaces.

Exposure to varying weather conditions; may require respirator use.

Must have reliable transportation and willingness to work flexible hours.
