Role Overview
The Subrogation Case Specialist develops cases after initial investigations to confirm viability of subrogation opportunities. This role manages coordination of claim payments, collects duplicate payments from providers, and recovers 1st party funds. The specialist interacts with insurance companies, providers, health plan members, and personal injury attorneys, preparing cases for successful negotiation by Paralegals.
Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop subrogation opportunities by gathering missing information.

Validate claim viability; terminate pursuit when necessary.

Place parties on notice and send demand letters.

Conduct research and outbound calls to request case information.

Maintain accurate case records, calendars, and documentation.

Collaborate with Negotiators/Paralegals to resolve or transfer cases.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal laws.

Respond to inquiries from inbound investigation teams.

Demonstrate company core competencies in all actions.
Requirements

Education: Minimum high school diploma; bachelor’s preferred.

Experience: 2+ years in subrogation, collections, insurance, or COB experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet research.

Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited supervision.

Comfortable in an office environment with standard office equipment.

Compensation
