Cashier (Hourly)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with university policies. Key responsibilities include processing monetary transactions, preparing billings and past-due notices, applying holds and late fees, posting entries to journals and ledgers, analyzing transactions for write-offs, and compiling financial reports. The role also involves balancing accounts, updating spreadsheets, running queries, recommending web content updates, assisting with procedural modifications, entering data, reviewing reports, and testing financial software for upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications

• A combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
• At least three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in higher education or within the CSU system.
• Proficiency in database programs and automated accounting systems such as PeopleSoft or CASHNet.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
• At least one year of experience managing student financial accounting records.

Salary Range
The anticipated hourly rate is $22.34 to $24.57, depending on qualifications.
