Job Description
As a Pharmacist at Essentia Health, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care that supports our mission to make a healthy difference in people’s lives. Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, verifying orders, dispensing medications, and providing medication education to patients, families, and healthcare providers. You will also be involved in monitoring medication therapy, performing medication reconciliation, anticoagulation and pharmacokinetic monitoring, renal dosing adjustments, and offering consultative support to clinical staff.

Education Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy (BS or PharmD required)

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited hospital residency or at least three years of hospital pharmacy experience is preferred

Licensure/Certification Requirements

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Board of Pharmacy in the state of employment

  • Pharmacists working under the SMPHM Union agreement are required to obtain licensure in both Minnesota and Wisconsin within one (1) year of hire (applies to all regular full-time and part-time pharmacists working at 0.4 FTE or greater)

State-Specific Intern Requirements:

  • Minnesota: Must be registered as a Pharmacy Intern through the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy

  • Wisconsin: No registration required if in final months of pharmacy program
