Job Title: Catering Assistant
Location: Ormskirk District General Hospital, Dicconson Way, Wigan Rd, Ormskirk L39 2AZ
Pay Rate: £12.21 – £22.37 per hour (depending on shift)
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary
Hours: 30 hours per week (4 days a week including weekends), shifts between 7:30am and 7:00pm

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and service of meals, ensuring dietary and allergen needs are met.

Maintain strict hygiene standards, including temperature checks and cleaning schedules.

Provide a friendly and efficient service to patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Accurately operate tills and handle cash in line with Trust policies.

Collaborate with the wider catering and domestic team to ensure a smooth and safe operation.
What We’re Looking For

Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (essential)

Proven experience in a catering, café, or restaurant environment

Strong knowledge of food hygiene, allergen awareness, and temperature monitoring

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative

Cash handling and till experience is essential

High standards of personal hygiene and attention to detail
