Max Catering and Events, part of the Max Hospitality Group, has been a leader in the Hartford–Springfield area for over 30 years. Known for exceptional cuisine, creativity, and style, we’re looking for a full-time Event Manager to join our team.
Position Summary
The Event Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of event service, from planning and logistics to guest experience and team leadership. This role requires strong organizational skills, hands-on leadership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities

Lead and manage front-of-house service during events to ensure excellent guest experiences

Train, coach, and mentor service staff to uphold Max Hospitality standards

Oversee event staffing including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and compliance documentation

Maintain communication with staff before, during, and after events
-
Monitor food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction

Manage logistics: equipment inventory, storage, maintenance, and transportation
-
Track and manage labor and liquor costs, POS reporting, and cash handling

Support inventory and procurement processes

Partner with Sales and Culinary teams to deliver seamless events

Enforce company policies and escalate issues when necessary
Qualifications
-
1+ year of experience in event management or coordination

Previous supervisory/leadership experience in hospitality

Strong organizational and communication skills

Proven ability to lead teams under pressure

Experience with inventory management and cost control
-
ServSafe and TIPS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

Reliable transportation between Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA
