Catering Manager

About the Role

Elizabethtown College in southeastern Pennsylvania is hiring a Catering Manager to lead and manage all aspects of campus catering services. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing event planning, food service, staff management, budget control, and client satisfaction. The Catering Manager plays a key role in delivering high-quality dining experiences while supporting the College’s mission to Educate for Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of on-campus catered events.

  • Partner with clients to design menus and coordinate event details.

  • Supervise catering staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.

  • Manage catering budgets, billing, invoicing, and ROI tracking.

  • Ensure food safety and presentation standards in compliance with ServSafe guidelines.

  • Oversee event setup, service, breakdown, and vendor coordination.

  • Maintain inventory and catering equipment.

  • Serve as onsite manager during events, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of catering experience (or equivalent).

    • Valid U.S. driver’s license (minimum 3 years, MVR check required).

    • ServSafe and RAMP Certification.

  • Preferred:

    • Experience in higher education, large-scale catering, or institutional dining.

    • Strong financial management and client relations skills.

Physical Demands

  • Standing/walking for long periods, lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, climbing, pushing/pulling.

  • Strong communication, vision, and color recognition required.
