About the Role
Clean Harbors in Hampden, ME is looking for a Class A CDL Driver to operate a variety of light and heavy-duty trucks and specialized equipment—such as vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll-off trucks—at customer sites. This position involves both driving and hands-on fieldwork related to hazardous waste cleanup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and promote a safe work environment by following all safety procedures

  • Operate Class A commercial vehicles and assist field crews as needed

  • Load, unload, and transport materials safely and efficiently

  • Perform manual labor duties on-site to fulfill customer requirements

  • Ensure proper placarding of vehicles in compliance with DOT and company standards

  • Maintain accurate records, including daily logs and time sheets

  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations

  • Participate in emergency response rotations as required

  • May handle hazardous materials, decontamination, and site remediation tasks


Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Class A CDL

  • Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days

  • Capable of performing physical labor and using mobile devices

  • Pass a background check, drug screen, and physical (as required by position)

  • Must comply with OSHA respirator standards (facial hair requirements)

Preferred:

  • Previous commercial driving experience

  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements

  • Experience with manual transmissions

  • Background in hazardous materials handling and/or manual labor
