Job Description

Central Market is seeking a Store Operations Leader to oversee the successful execution of all areas of production and sales across Non-Perishable, Perishable, and Food Service departments. This leadership role ensures the highest standards in customer service, team development, safety, sanitation, and profitability—reporting directly to the General Manager.

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on strategic planning, operational excellence, and partner (employee) development across a wide range of store functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exercise independent judgment in business and employment-related decisions, including hiring, promotions, discipline, and performance management

  • Oversee multiple departments through direct management and coordination with department leaders

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company standards for product safety, freshness, refrigeration, and sanitation

  • Lead merchandising strategy, product mix, inventory control, and partner scheduling

  • Maintain effective vendor relationships and communicate Central Market standards

  • Conduct interviews, performance reviews, and ongoing partner development

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and inspire excellence among store teams

Non-Perishable: Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Foods, Healthy Living, Bulk Foods, Gift Baskets
Perishable: Produce, Meat Market, Seafood Market, Floral
Food Service: Kitchen, Café, Prepared Foods, Cooking School, Bakery, Deli, Cheese

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • 1–2 years of related supervisory or leadership experience

  • Strong strategic and financial planning skills

  • Proficient in automated systems: Inventory, Food Cost, Scheduling, Time & Attendance, and Labor

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills

  • Proven ability to delegate, manage priorities, and develop high-performing teams

  • Ability to lead through stressful or high-demand situations

  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
