The IRF Coder will be responsible for reviewing medical records, applying ICD-10-CM and PCS codes, and ensuring accurate IRF-PAI documentation for a rehabilitation hospital in Florida. Key Responsibilities of an IRF Coder

Review medical records and apply ICD-10-CM and PCS codes accurately

Assign IRF-PAI codes following inpatient rehab coding guidelines

Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or above

Complete coding and data entry within four days of record receipt

Seek clarifications for missing or incomplete documentation

Collaborate with physicians, staff, and internal teams for documentation improvement

Stay current with medical coding rules, regulations, and compliance updates

Support accurate clinical documentation to optimize reimbursement outcomes
Skills and Qualifications for an IRF Coder

Minimum 3 years’ experience in IRF or inpatient acute coding

Active certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P, CPC, or CMC

Strong expertise in ICD-10-CM and PCS coding

Must be located in FL, GA, NC, SC, AL, AR, KY, MD, or AZ

Inpatient Rehab Coding experience highly preferred

CMG (Case-Mix Group) coding experience is a plus
