Position Overview

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and residents. Working under the supervision of registered nurses and other medical staff, you will assist patients with their daily living needs while ensuring their safety, dignity, and comfort. Your attentive care and observations will be essential to supporting the health, recovery, and overall well-being of those in your care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care:

    • Provide attentive and compassionate care tailored to individual patient needs.

    • Respond promptly to patient call signals and assess how to best support them.

  • Personal Hygiene & Daily Activities:

    • Assist patients with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral care.

    • Support patients with mobility needs, including helping them out of bed, walking, standing, or participating in therapeutic exercises.

  • Repositioning & Mobility:

    • Turn and reposition bedridden patients regularly to prevent bedsores and promote circulation.

  • Nutrition & Dietary Monitoring:

    • Ensure patients receive appropriate meals by reviewing dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.

    • Measure and document food and fluid intake as well as urinary and fecal output, reporting any significant changes to the nursing team.

  • Communication & Observation:

    • Gather and relay vital patient information from physicians, nurses, and caregivers to ensure continuity of care.

    • Monitor and document changes in a patient’s physical or emotional condition, including behavioral changes, discomfort, or symptoms such as open wounds, bruising, or blood in urine.

    • Promptly report all observations to nursing staff.

  • Vital Signs & Medical Support:

    • Accurately record and report vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate, as directed by healthcare professionals.

  • Medication Reminders:

    • Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements in accordance with care plans.

  • Documentation & Compliance:

    • Maintain accurate, timely records of patient care activities.

    • Stay informed and compliant with facility protocols, CNA training requirements, and applicable health and safety regulations.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active CNA License

    • Must hold a current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant license for the state of New Mexico (or be eligible to obtain one).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

    • Current BLS certification required to ensure readiness to respond to medical emergencies.

  • COVID-19 Vaccination

    • Full vaccination against COVID-19 in compliance with federal, state, and facility health mandates.
