Compensation and Schedule

  • Wage Range: $21.81 – $29.09 per hour

  • Night Shift Differential: 12.5% of base rate (minimum of $2.65/hour)

  • Typical Schedule: Most full-time positions follow a 12-hour shift, three days per week, including every other weekend

  • Hiring Bonus: $3,000 for full-time hires who start by June 30, 2025


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient admissions and discharges

  • Obtain and document accurate vital signs and patient weight

  • Complete unit-specific documentation in the medical record (e.g., vital signs, daily care, intake/output, etc.)

  • Provide support with hygiene, mobility, nutrition, transportation, and other basic patient needs

  • Promote patient- and family-centered care

  • Uphold OHSU’s Code of Conduct by reporting any potential compliance concerns

  • Consistently demonstrate ethical behavior, integrity, and professionalism

  • Perform all essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation


Current Openings

Part-Time (Not Bonus Eligible)

  • Cardiovascular Intermediate Care: 0.6 FTE (Tues, Fri, Sun – 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM)

Full-Time – Day Shift

  • Trauma Unit: 0.9 FTE

  • General Surgery: 0.9 FTE

Full-Time – Night Shift

  • Trauma Unit: 0.9 FTE

  • Float Pool: Six (6) positions, 0.9 FTE each


Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Current Oregon CNA 1 certification at time of hire

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
