Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Deliver care as delegated and supervised by a registered nurse, ensuring patient needs are met according to their condition, age, and development.

  • Participate in the creation and implementation of patient care plans as delegated by the nurse.

  • Organize and adjust care plans based on the patient’s needs, preferences, and routines.

  • Stay focused on and reinforce the priorities outlined in the patient care plan.

  • Encourage patient self-care and independence, when appropriate.

  • Recognize and address the mental health needs of cognitively impaired patients.

  • Maintain a safe environment by preventing hazards, using restraints correctly, and adhering to infection control protocols.

  • Identify abnormal signs and symptoms of common diseases, communicating changes promptly and accurately.

  • Provide basic nutrition and fluid intake for patients.

  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, following emergency procedures.

  • Complete documentation according to organizational guidelines.

Competency

  • Adhere to regulations, practicing within the legal boundaries of CNA duties.

  • Ensure continuous clinical competency through maintaining current certification and keeping up with necessary training.

  • Perform tasks within your authorized scope of practice, demonstrating skill and proficiency.

Qualifications

Education and Certification:

  • Current CNA certification required.

  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Experience:

  • Prior experience as a nursing assistant is preferred, but not required.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $21.00 – $28.44 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
