Responsibilities

  • Perform return and restocking duties to optimize the use of automation for customers.

  • Monitor and maintain formulary inventory levels, ensuring the availability of medications for daily dispensing.

  • Handle prescribed maintenance of automation products, reporting unresolved issues to the Technical Assistance Center (TAC).

  • Recommend new drugs for automation based on data usage, demand, and workflow analysis.

  • Perform daily and periodic cleaning of equipment following recommended best practices.

  • Inspect robot cells daily to identify any issues, wear, or functionality problems.

  • Resolve common system issues and monitor trends to help identify the root causes.

  • Ensure effective communication to proactively identify and resolve problems.

  • Maintain high customer satisfaction by aligning Pharmacy Services with a customer-focused approach that emphasizes quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.

  • Conduct orientation and training sessions, ensuring all required documents are completed and procedures followed.

  • Serve as a skilled resource to optimize customer product ownership and satisfaction.

  • Participate in planning and set personal goals to support quality improvement efforts.

  • Foster a cooperative work environment by using effective communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team-building techniques.

  • Comply with facility-specific procedures, policies, and guidelines.

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses, including timekeeping and per diem employees.

  • Keep up-to-date with state and/or national credentialing requirements.

  • Be available to travel to various customer or corporate locations.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Proven customer-facing experience.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work with mechanical equipment.

  • Proficient in computer hardware and Windows PC systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Active PTCB or NHA (CPhT/EXCPT) certification.

  • Active State Pharmacy Technician Registration/License for Minnesota (MN), if applicable.

  • Two years of experience in hospital pharmacy or the healthcare industry.

  • Working knowledge of pharmacy automation systems.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Three years of experience in a related field.

  • Knowledge of safe handling procedures for hazardous medications.

  • Experience implementing and supporting clinical solutions in healthcare settings.

Work Conditions

  • This PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician position is an on-call/as-needed role.

  • Pharmacy work environment.

  • Capable of standing for long periods.

  • Potential exposure to hazardous drugs.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Must be able to lift 25–30 lbs.
