Job Overview
We’re seeking a dedicated, energetic, and enthusiastic Charity Shop Assistant to support the smooth running of our shop and ensure a warm, helpful experience for all customers. You will work closely with the Charity Shop Coordinator and volunteers to manage sales, stock, and day-to-day operations while supporting people who use our services.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Charity Shop Coordinator with stock management, sales, and team support

Provide exceptional customer service at all times

Keep the shop tidy, organised, and attractively presented

Help volunteers with transactions and ensure till coverage

Support individuals accessing goods through crisis vouchers with sensitivity and professionalism

Receive deliveries, restock shelves, and maintain inventory accuracy

Assist with admin tasks: filing, data entry, and records management

Address customer complaints politely and escalate when necessary

Help create a welcoming, inclusive shop atmosphere
Requirements

Previous customer service experience (preferred)

Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving

Availability to work Mondays and Fridays, with some flexibility for additional shifts
