Job Overview

We’re seeking a dedicated, energetic, and enthusiastic Charity Shop Assistant to support the smooth running of our shop and ensure a warm, helpful experience for all customers. You will work closely with the Charity Shop Coordinator and volunteers to manage sales, stock, and day-to-day operations while supporting people who use our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Charity Shop Coordinator with stock management, sales, and team support

  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times

  • Keep the shop tidy, organised, and attractively presented

  • Help volunteers with transactions and ensure till coverage

  • Support individuals accessing goods through crisis vouchers with sensitivity and professionalism

  • Receive deliveries, restock shelves, and maintain inventory accuracy

  • Assist with admin tasks: filing, data entry, and records management

  • Address customer complaints politely and escalate when necessary

  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive shop atmosphere

Requirements

  • Previous customer service experience (preferred)

  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Availability to work Mondays and Fridays, with some flexibility for additional shifts
