Summary

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all food preparation, recipes, and presentation meet or exceed customer expectations at The Branding Iron and Grill 64. This includes ordering food for both venues, training and supervising line cooks, catering golf tournaments and outside events, and ensuring compliance with health codes, schedules, and operational procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform short-order cooking and catering for events.

  • Train, monitor, lead, and schedule kitchen staff within budget.

  • Follow and enforce food safety practices and health regulations (local/state/TABC).

  • Maintain a City of Georgetown Health Department score above 80.

  • Conduct and reconcile weekly product inventories; report results to the Golf Course Administrator.

  • Order food to meet weekly demand.

  • Perform and document food line and temperature checks.

  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and proper equipment maintenance.

  • Monitor food preparation times and quality.

  • Be available to cook or serve when staff is unavailable or during high demand.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 3 years of restaurant line cook experience, or equivalent education/experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts or related field.

  • 5 years of experience as a line cook.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of restaurant tools, food preparation, and safety practices.

  • Skill in planning, organizing, and evaluating staff work.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prepare and serve large groups (e.g., golf tournaments).

  • Ability to train staff effectively.

  • Ability to plan and track inventory and food orders.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Class C Texas driver’s license.

  • TABC Certification and Food Handler Certificate (or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of employment).

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Restaurant environment with occasional exposure to humidity, fumes, chemicals, and hazards.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and squatting.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
