Position Summary

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement daily and long-term lesson plans aligned with KIPP’s academic goals.

  • Use data analysis to identify trends and adapt instructional practices.

  • Build a joyful, inclusive, and rigorous classroom environment.

  • Incorporate culturally responsive management strategies.

  • Communicate consistently with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Participate in weekly professional development and communities of practice.

  • Maintain accurate student records (attendance, grades, behavior, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Experience teaching students from similar demographics as KIPP NorCal.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Hold or be eligible for one of the following: valid teaching credential, Provisional Internship Permit, or Short-Term Staff Permit.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong content area expertise and belief in student potential.

  • Commitment to anti-racist education and KIPP’s mission.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and communities.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite and instructional technology (Zoom, Nearpod, etc.).

Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands

  • Ability to navigate school/classroom settings, use technology, and occasionally lift 1–20 lbs.

  • Handle normal work stress, analyze problems, concentrate for extended periods.

  • Work in school/classroom environments with frequent interruptions.

  • Adhere to CDC, CDE, and public health guidelines.
