About the Role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing all fiscal management and financial operations of the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas. As a senior leader and advisor to the Tribal Administrator and Tribal Council, the CFO will develop financial policies, manage budgets, oversee grants and compliance, and ensure optimal use of Tribal resources.
Key Responsibilities

Direct all fiscal management and business services of the Tribe.

Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and compliance strategies.

Provide accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends.

Guide strategic decisions on mergers, acquisitions, investments, and contracts.

Optimize banking relationships, cash flow, and long-term financial planning.

Ensure compliance with Tribal, State, and Federal laws and fund accounting principles.

Serve as a key advisor to the Tribal Administrator and Tribal Council.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (accredited institution).

5+ years as CFO or Director of Accounting in a multi-departmental organization.

Knowledge of governmental fiscal reporting, fund accounting, and state/federal grant requirements.
Preferred

Previous related work experience in a governmental or tribal entity.
