We are seeking a visionary Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join our leadership team. Unlike a traditional clinical role, this position leverages medical expertise to shape research strategy, guide regulatory compliance, and advance genetic and genomic testing initiatives. The Chief Medical Officer will ensure that Phronetik’s mission of delivering patient-centered, data-driven solutions remains at the forefront of all initiatives.


Position Overview – Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

The Chief Medical Officer at Phronetik will:

  • Lead medical strategy for genomics, precision medicine, and translational research.

  • Provide oversight of genetic testing, genomic services, and ethical compliance.

  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Science Officer to align medical and scientific priorities.

  • Engage with regulators, sponsors, academic collaborators, and industry leaders.

  • Mentor teams to foster innovation, scientific rigor, and patient-centered research.

This role is ideal for an experienced physician-scientist with expertise in genomics, clinical research, and medical leadership who wants to drive change in the future of healthcare.


Key Responsibilities of the Chief Medical Officer

As Phronetik’s Chief Medical Officer, you will:

  • Medical Leadership: Define and implement Phronetik’s medical and research strategy.

  • Genomic & Clinical Oversight: Guide testing programs, genetic counseling, and precision medicine services.

  • Research Enablement: Design and review protocols, translational studies, and clinical collaborations.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure alignment with FDA, CLIA, CAP, and global research regulations.

  • Ethical & Safety Oversight: Maintain the highest standards of patient safety, privacy, and ethics.

  • Collaboration: Act as a key medical voice across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Phronetik to sponsors, regulators, and the scientific community.

  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to publications, presentations, and discussions in genomics.

  • Mentorship: Lead and mentor research and clinical teams, building a culture of innovation.


Qualifications & Experience

To succeed as Chief Medical Officer at Phronetik, you should have:

  • Education: MD or DO with active U.S. medical license; MD/PhD strongly preferred.

  • Experience: 10+ years of combined clinical and research experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles within genomics, biotech, or life sciences.

  • Genomics Expertise: Deep understanding of genetics, molecular diagnostics, and precision medicine.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Proven experience with FDA, CLIA, CAP compliance, and ethical considerations.

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to define vision, influence strategy, and drive cross-disciplinary collaboration.

  • Communication: Excellent ability to engage with regulators, scientists, and industry leaders.

  • Patient-Centered Values: Commitment to transparency, ethical standards, and equitable access to genomic medicine.


Travel & Work Environment

  • Up to 20% travel within the U.S. and internationally.

  • Must hold a valid passport and driver’s license.

  • Work may take place at Phronetik offices, partner sites, or remotely from a home office.
