About the Role
The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Claims Lead Data Analyst to join our growing Claims Analytics team. This role will leverage claims data to provide business insights, identify improvement opportunities, and develop advanced analytic capabilities. The Lead Analyst will collaborate across multiple business units to support decision-making, build predictive insights, and mentor junior analysts.
Key Responsibilities

Analyze claims data, identify trends, and present insights to internal stakeholders.

Partner with cross-functional teams (actuarial, finance, underwriting, etc.) to ensure cohesive reporting and data integration.

Develop advanced data visualizations and automate reporting to improve efficiency.

Diagnose drivers of financial results, including claim frequency and severity.

Provide consultative recommendations to shape the claims insights roadmap.

Support predictive modeling, data governance practices, and KPI development.

Respond to urgent requests and produce ad hoc reports with rapid turnaround.

Mentor and guide junior analysts, promoting best practices in data analysis.

Explore innovative data tools and technologies to enhance capabilities.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in math, finance, actuarial science, analytics, or related field.

5+ years of related experience.

U.S. work authorization (citizenship or green card required).

Advanced Excel and intermediate SQL proficiency.

Strong communication and data visualization skills.

Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities.

Adaptable, collaborative, and effective in fast-paced environments.
