About the Role
As a Clamp/Forklift Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating machinery to ensure the smooth, efficient, and environmentally friendly operation of the site. This role also requires supporting other operational tasks as needed by management.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Safely operate Clamp and/or Forklift Trucks to maintain efficient site operations.
🔹 Conduct daily and weekly machinery checks, including refueling, lubrication, and greasing, while promptly reporting any defects or breakdowns.
🔹 Record and report bale weights and lengths to the Shift Supervisor at the end of each shift.
🔹 Load bales onto trailers for transport to the dock quayside for vessel loading.
🔹 Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring clear walkways and emergency exits.
🔹 Immediately report contamination, non-conforming waste, accidents, incidents, and hazards.
🔹 Use appropriate PPE and comply with all Health & Safety, HR, and Environmental policies.
🔹 Undertake training for additional tasks and equipment operation as required.
🔹 Assist colleagues and support other site operations when needed.
🔹 Represent the company professionally and responsibly.
About You
✅ Experience operating machinery and equipment safely.
✅ Basic mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance (e.g., refueling, lubrication, and greasing).
✅ Strong attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
✅ Awareness of Health & Safety regulations, including PPE requirements and emergency procedures.
✅ Team player with good communication skills and the ability to assist colleagues when needed.
✅ Physically fit to meet manual handling requirements.
✅ Willingness to undertake additional training as necessary.
✅ Previous experience in a waste management, recycling, or industrial environment is desirable.
