Position Overview:
As a Class A CDL Driver (Non-Crane Certified) with National Trench Safety (NTS), you will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery and pickup of trench-related shoring equipment to and from customer job sites. This role requires strict adherence to safety policies and procedures governed by the DOT, FMCSR, and NTS. It is a safety-sensitive position, mandating compliance with the company’s drug and alcohol policy and all applicable safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate company vehicles safely, efficiently, and professionally at all times.

Comply with all DOT regulations related to vehicle operation, including conducting vehicle inspections before and after shifts and promptly reporting any issues.

Maintain accurate electronic driver Hours of Service (HOS) logs and ensure all driver credentials remain current.

Participate in pre-employment, random, and routine drug and alcohol testing as required.

Secure loads in full compliance with DOT and company policies.

Report all accidents involving the driver or equipment to branch management immediately.

Deliver and pick up shoring equipment and plates to multiple job sites daily.

Occasionally assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers on job sites.

Assemble and disassemble shoring equipment on-site when required.

Ensure all delivery documentation is accurately completed and submitted.

Demonstrate expert driving skills to maneuver vehicles safely in challenging conditions such as heavy traffic, difficult terrain, or tight loading docks.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with branch staff regarding delivery schedules and promptly report any delivery-related issues.

Follow all safety requirements set by customers while on their job sites.

Assist with yard operations and maintain clean, hazard-free work areas as needed.

Provide basic training assistance to customers on the safe operation of shoring equipment when requested.

Report any damage to rental equipment discovered during pickups to branch management, inside sales representatives, and customers.

Be available for occasional after-hours emergency responses as required by the branch.

Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure all maintenance is current.
Knowledge and Skills:

Proficient in safely securing loads.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills to foster positive customer relationships.

Positive attitude with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.

Quick learner with attention to detail and openness to direction and coaching.
Qualifications:

Minimum of two years’ experience driving Class A CDL vehicles preferred.

Current Class A Commercial Driver’s License issued by the state Department of Motor Vehicles.

Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate compliant with FMCSR 49 CFR 391.41-391.49.

Ability to obtain forklift certification if required.
