A leading organization in the Healthcare Services industry is seeking a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist to conduct secondary clinical chart reviews and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of medical documentation. This role focuses on improving documentation quality to support correct coding, billing, and clinical care alignment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive secondary reviews of clinical charts to identify documentation improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Coders, Coding Educators, and Case Managers to maintain accurate and clinically appropriate documentation.

  • Conduct daily concurrent reviews of inpatient records to ensure timely and compliant coding.

  • Initiate compliant physician queries for ambiguous or missing documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with the CDI Coordinator regarding review assignments and workflow.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • RN, MD, or MBBS certification.

  • Minimum 4 years of direct patient care experience (inpatient, critical care, or medical-surgical settings).

  • At least 2 years of CDI experience.

  • Familiarity with encoder systems and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCDS or CDIP certification.

  • Experience in Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Case Management.

  • Strong understanding of disease processes and clinical care pathways.

  • Proficiency with EHR systems, CDI software, and encoders.

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
