Job Summary
Responsible for processing medication orders in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines, while providing drug information based on a comprehensive understanding of medications and medical therapies.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Completion of a five-year pharmacy program from an accredited college of pharmacy (required).
Minimum Experience:
At least 1 year of pharmacy experience (required).
Key Responsibilities
Medication Processing:

Review and interpret medication and profile orders.
-
Oversee the packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications.
Drug Intervention and Education:
-
Monitor drug therapy and intervene when necessary regarding dosing, administration, interactions, side effects, and monitoring.

Complete therapeutic drug monitoring consults and adverse drug reaction reports as assigned.

Provide timely and accurate drug information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Interpret research medication orders, ensure correct preparation of investigational drugs, and maintain accurate records.

Maintain proficiency in medication handling, including hazardous drugs, and sterile/non-sterile compounding, while completing quality assurance checks following USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines.
Supervision and Training:

Supervise Pharmacy Technicians, providing guidance to ensure quick medication order turnaround.

Assist in the education and training of Pharmacy Residents, Students, and Technicians.
