Position Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist provides expert pharmaceutical care for neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients. Responsibilities include monitoring drug therapy, delivering drug information, consulting with healthcare professionals, ensuring cost-effective pharmaceutical services, and supervising pharmacy technicians. This role is ideal for pharmacists passionate about pediatric acute care and advancing safe medication practices.

Pay Range: $70.92 – $117.02 per hour (based on skills, experience, and education)

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Required: At least 1 year of clinical pharmacy experience in an acute care setting.

    • Preferred: Pediatric acute care pharmacy experience.

  • Education:

    • Required: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited institution.

    • Preferred: Completion of ASHP-accredited residency program (PGY1/PGY2).

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and organizational skills.

    • Knowledge of drug interactions, adverse effects, and therapeutic appropriateness.

    • Ability to supervise and instruct pharmacy staff.

  • Licensure/Certifications:

    • California Pharmacist License required.

    • BLS and PALS within 90 days of hire.

    • ACLS within 1 year of hire.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a medium-to-high energy position requiring the ability to lift 40–50 lbs, push/pull 150–200 lbs, and perform repetitive movements. The role involves exposure to pathogens, chemicals, and variable environments.
