A Brief Overview
The Clinical Pharmacist plays a key role in ensuring the safe, effective, and fiscally responsible use of medications. Using clinical knowledge, professional judgment, and patient-centered care, the Clinical Pharmacist acts as a patient advocate while planning and implementing pharmacy care. This role covers all areas of pharmacy practice and includes the legal responsibility of reviewing and approving all medication dispensing activities pursuant to valid prescriptions or orders under ORC 4729, 4715, 4731, and/or 4741.
What You Will Do

Accurately verify and dispense medication orders

Minimize order turnaround time

Monitor and document medication therapy

Perform and document medication reconciliation

Ensure inventory control and adherence to Hospital Formulary policies

Follow all local and system policies and procedures

Maintain compliance with Protected Health Information (PHI) standards

Complete additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Required)

PharmD (Required)
Work Experience
-
Previous experience in clinical pharmacy practice, computerized unit dose, sterile products, and patient-focused care (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong communication skills (Required)

Proficiency with computers, office equipment, and automated compounding systems (Required)
Licenses & Certifications

Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph) in the State of Ohio (Required)

Licensed health sciences practitioner in the State of Ohio (Required)
