Cloud Data Engineering Intern

Role Overview

WillHire is seeking analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive interns to join our Data Engineering Internship Cohort. You will support our data and infrastructure teams in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, gaining hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools, cloud platforms, and big data ecosystems in a fast-growing HR-tech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data

• Work with SQL/NoSQL databases to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility

• Integrate APIs and third-party data sources into the data ecosystem

• Optimize data storage, transformation, and retrieval for performance and scalability

• Perform data quality checks, validation, and monitoring

• Assist in creating dashboards and reports for stakeholders

• Research new tools, frameworks, and best practices in data engineering

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or related fields

• Strong understanding of databases, SQL, and data modeling

• Familiarity with Python, Java, or Scala for data processing

• Basic knowledge of data warehousing, ETL, and data pipelines

• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and their data services

• Critical thinking, attention to detail, and proactive learning mindset

Nice to Have (Bonus)

• Certifications: AWS Certified Data Engineer, Google Cloud Data Engineer, Azure Data Fundamentals (even in-progress)

• Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka

• Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, Looker

• API integration, streaming data, or real-time processing experience

• Participation in hackathons, Kaggle competitions, or open-source data projects
