ClassDojo is looking for a talented Platform Engineer to help build the backbone of our global education platform. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll work on the infrastructure that powers ClassDojo’s app, supporting tens of millions of students, teachers, and families worldwide. You will design, optimize, and maintain scalable systems while collaborating with engineers across the organization. Key Responsibilities as a Platform Engineer

  • Build, debug, and optimize infrastructure code using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or similar languages.

  • Collaborate with engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and design sessions.

  • Improve shared systems, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines for faster, safer delivery.

  • Contribute to platform architecture and technical decisions.

  • Mentor engineers and foster a strong, collaborative engineering culture.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Solve complex infrastructure challenges and improve platform reliability.

  • Break down work for incremental improvements to product quality and processes.

  • Help elevate junior engineers into senior roles through guidance and mentorship.

  • Actively contribute to technical excellence across ClassDojo’s global team.


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional software experience, including 2+ years in platform/infrastructure roles.

  • Proven track record of driving impact and improvements in previous organizations.

  • Hands-on experience with test automation, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ownership mindset with a focus on accountability and results.

  • Passion for education and improving the lives of students globally.

  • Must reside in the Americas timezone.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary (US):

    • CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT: $171,500 – $250,000 USD

    • All other US states: $146,000 – $215,000 USD
