Job Summary
Sonepar is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join our Digital Development team. In this hybrid role, you will design, implement, and secure cloud-native solutions while supporting a Digital Factory of over 100 cross-functional team members. You’ll focus on automating infrastructure tasks using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), enhancing CI/CD pipelines with security-first practices, and collaborating with architects, developers, and product owners to drive cloud engineering initiatives. This role combines cloud engineering expertise, security integration, and DevOps practices to strengthen system resilience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Provision, build, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using Terraform, Azure, and Kubernetes.

Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, following “security by design” principles.

Collaborate with backend/frontend architects, developers, and Cloud Specialists to deliver scalable cloud solutions.

Develop and maintain internal knowledge resources, best practices, and automation workflows.

Provide KPIs and reporting to demonstrate impact of cloud engineering on security and risk reduction.

Allocate approximately 80% of effort toward cloud solution development and 20% toward supporting development teams.
Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Minimum 2+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or cloud engineering roles.

Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.

Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language: Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud-native tools.

Knowledge of Dynamics 365 solutions is a plus.

Experience setting up and optimizing pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.

Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and IT Service Management (ITSM) practices.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without VISA sponsorship.
Preferred Skills

Experience with ArgoCD, Argo workflows, or other CI/CD orchestration tools.

Proficiency in at least two technology stack components: Spring (Java), React, Next.js, GraphQL, Azure.

Strong background in cloud security tools and practices.

Ability to propose and implement cloud best practices to drive change across teams.
Work Environment

Hybrid role based in Irving, TX or Denver, CO offices.
