Position Overview
The Coder II role is a senior-level professional fee coding position. You’ll review clinical documentation to assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes, resolve work queue edits, and review denials for potential corrections or appeals. Collaboration is key—you’ll partner with providers, clinic supervisors, and revenue management staff to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with payer rules and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Code inpatient and outpatient professional fee services across multiple specialties

Assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes based on clinical documentation

Resolve edits in work queues (charge review, claim edits, follow-up)

Review denials and submit corrected claims or appeals as appropriate

Collaborate with providers and supervisors to resolve coding questions

Partner with the Revenue Management team on coding-related issues
Qualifications
-
High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s degree preferred

3+ years professional fee coding experience required (multiple specialties)

Experience with EHR systems required (Epic preferred)

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

CPC or CCS-P certification required; additional certifications (CPMA/specialty) preferred
