Position Overview
The Remote Home Infusion Billing & Collections Specialist is responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant revenue cycle management for home infusion claims. This role focuses on reducing denials, improving collection rates, and identifying additional revenue opportunities, while working closely with patients, payers, and franchise partners.
Key Responsibilities

Review claims with outstanding balances and take action to collect revenues from insurers and patients.

Analyze denials, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to reduce DSO, bad debt, and improve collection efficiency.

Submit appeals for denied claims, verifying insurance, obtaining medical records, reviewing coding, and following payer requirements.

Communicate effectively with franchise partners, payers, and internal departments regarding collection status and resolution of issues.

Document case activity, communications, and claim resolutions accurately in computer systems.

Verify benefits for pharmacy and medical third-party claims and educate patients on financial obligations.

Contribute expertise to training materials, policy development, and process improvements within the RCM team.

Assist with online adjudication of collection issues and nurse billing as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication skills: listening, speaking, writing, and influencing patients, caregivers, and payers.

Strong knowledge of billing, collections, and RCM processes for all payer types.

Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify gaps and implement lasting solutions.

Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate and complete records.

Proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy software applications.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting collection and productivity targets.
Education & Experience

2–5 years of home infusion billing and/or collections experience required.

High School Diploma required; additional training in pharmacy/medical billing preferred.

Minimum 2 years experience in home infusion therapy.

Experience in a remote work environment is a plus.

Detail-oriented with experience in post-billing and post-payment investigations.
