Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Compliance Assistant to support the UK Head of Compliance and UK MLRO. This role plays a key part in upholding Shinhan Bank’s compliance standards and ensuring financial crime prevention through effective controls and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:

Submit internal reports to Head Office using bank systems

Update and maintain compliance and AML policies

Monitor regulatory updates and conduct gap analyses
-
Perform Compliance/AML monitoring and KYC reviews
-
Review onboarding/refresh documentation for Customer Due Diligence (CDD)

Monitor daily Sanction Screening reports (Enisis, Aither systems)
-
Update the bank’s Geographical Risk Rating and sanction lists
-
Coordinate compliance projects and testing
-
Handle complaints, breaches, and regulatory findings
-
Conduct research and interpret regulatory rules

Collaborate with other departments to implement compliance systems

Respond to and action items raised by Head Office
Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field

Excellent time management and multitasking ability

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

High level of professional integrity and ethics

Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
Preferred Qualifications:

Compliance or AML certifications (e.g., AML Diploma, Compliance Diploma)

Previous internship or work experience in banking/finance
