Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to oversee and promote safety in a field-based construction environment. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring contractor safety, auditing procedures, and supporting daily operations. This position includes competitive pay, benefits, and per diem eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and enforce a zero-incident safety culture on-site

  • Conduct field safety audits and correct unsafe behavior

  • Audit JSAs (Job Safety Analyses) and permit systems

  • Coordinate with contractors to plan safe construction activities

  • Monitor contractor performance against milestones and resolve potential delays

  • Develop mitigation plans with other coordinators as needed

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for contractor operations on-site

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Construction Science, Building Science, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in industrial construction safety coordination

  • Experience in chemical plant environments preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather

  • Must wear PPE: fire-retardant suit, safety glasses, earplugs, and hard hat

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods

  • Perform duties outdoors in varying climates

  • Wear PPE daily on-site
