Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to oversee and promote safety in a field-based construction environment. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring contractor safety, auditing procedures, and supporting daily operations. This position includes competitive pay, benefits, and per diem eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive and enforce a zero-incident safety culture on-site
Conduct field safety audits and correct unsafe behavior
Audit JSAs (Job Safety Analyses) and permit systems
Coordinate with contractors to plan safe construction activities
Monitor contractor performance against milestones and resolve potential delays
Develop mitigation plans with other coordinators as needed
Serve as the primary coordinator for contractor operations on-site

Qualifications:

Education:

Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Construction Science, Building Science, or related field

Experience:

Minimum 5 years in industrial construction safety coordination
Experience in chemical plant environments preferred

Skills & Abilities:

Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA standards
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather
Must wear PPE: fire-retardant suit, safety glasses, earplugs, and hard hat

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods
Perform duties outdoors in varying climates
Wear PPE daily on-site
