We are currently seeking a Consultant Pharmacist to serve facilities across Union, Essex, Morris, and Bergen counties. Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant Pharmacist, you will:

Travel locally to long-term care facilities (within approximately 45 minutes of your home).

Review and evaluate medication regimens to ensure effectiveness, appropriateness, and safety—focusing on areas such as antimicrobial therapy, pain management, and psychoactive medication use.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and nurses, to manage medication therapies and enhance patient care.

Apply deep clinical knowledge of drug actions, dosing, interactions, and adverse effects.

Contribute to and help implement protocols, medication safety practices, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.

Provide staff education through in-services and the development of educational materials on medication-related topics.

Participate in key facility meetings, such as Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI), antibiotic stewardship, and psychoactive medication reviews.

Support and help maintain formulary compliance and communicate medication policy updates.

Foster positive working relationships with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams to promote high standards of pharmaceutical care.

Preferred Experience (“Bonus Points”):

Prior clinical experience in long-term care pharmacy

Active Certified Consultant Pharmacist (CCP) credential
Position Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available)

Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation

Willing and able to travel daily to healthcare facilities across Union, Essex, Morris, and Bergen counties

Must hold a current Pharmacist license issued by the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
