Position Overview

We are seeking a Contractor – Electronics Technician 3 to join our team in Goleta, CA. In this role, you will support development engineering activities including setup, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and modification of electronic and electro-mechanical systems. You will also assist in prototype development, flight hardware fabrication, and specialized test equipment operation. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and validate critical flight hardware, including mechanical and electrical assembly, per drawings, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Assist engineers in manufacturing prototype hardware, developing test infrastructure, and documenting assembly/test procedures.

  • Identify and communicate non-conformances to engineering and quality teams.

  • Collaborate with facilities and maintenance to ensure timely equipment repair.

  • Work with manufacturing engineering to optimize processes and ensure clarity of instructions.

  • Support Ground Support Equipment development and testing.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent plus advanced technical training.

  • Current soldering and harnessing/crimping certification to NASA or IPC standards (IPC J-STD-001 with space applications).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or similar role.

  • Strong electronics aptitude, fabrication skills, and general shop experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

  • Ability to lead in work centers with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform detailed manual work.

  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person as required by ITAR.

Desired Skills

  • Ability to work from diagrams, schematics, and detailed procedures.

  • Expert in operating electrical and non-electrical manufacturing equipment.

  • Proficient with hand tools (crimpers, drills, torque wrenches, power and air tools).

  • Skilled in working with adhesives, coatings, and chemical cleaners.

  • Strong time management with ability to meet both daily and long-term project goals.
