Job Title: Controller

Location: Washington DC – This team is not considering candidates who need to relocate. Only candidates who currently live within a commutable distance of the worksite.

Hybrid: 1-2 Days in office preferred

Salary: $140,000 – $165,000

The candidates being screened on skills/experience: Government contracting (gov con) experience, 2-3 years in a controller role, consulting experience, familiarity with UNANET (a plus, but not mandatory).

Job Summary: The company is seeking a Controller with a strong background in government contracting (gov con) and consulting experience. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in a controller role and possess a deep understanding of financial management within the government contracting space. Familiarity with UNIT is a plus, though not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting within a government contracting environment.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with government regulations and manage financial risks associated with government contracts.
  • Consulting Support: Provide financial insights and support to consulting teams, ensuring that project financials are accurately tracked and reported.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong communication with key stakeholders, providing regular updates on financial performance and addressing any concerns.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a controller role, ideally within the government contracting (gov con) sector.
  • Consulting experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with UNIT is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, compliance, and risk management in a government contracting environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial management systems commonly used in government contracting.
  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
