Position Overview
As a Cook I at Seattle Children’s, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our patients, families, and staff by preparing quality meals using standard recipes and basic culinary techniques. This position ensures timely food production aligned with daily schedules and adheres strictly to health, safety, and sanitation standards. You’ll also be responsible for proper food storage, efficient use of kitchen supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the workday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items following standard recipes and production requirements.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils.

  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients and prepared foods.

  • Support a safe and organized kitchen environment.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support kitchen operations.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in quantity food production.

Required Credential

  • Washington State Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit (must be obtained within 15 days of hire).

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in food production within a hospital, hotel, or catering environment.

Compensation Details
The hourly range for this position is $21.10 to $31.66, based on full-time employment (2080 hours annually). Actual pay is determined by several factors, including experience, skill level, internal equity, and qualifications. Please note, compensation may vary for roles based outside the Seattle area.
