About the Job
The System Administrator III is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise applications within a Credit Union’s diverse computing environment, which features multiple real-time integration points. This position involves analyzing technical requirements, implementing and maintaining systems throughout their lifecycle, and providing project and business analysis support for strategic initiatives. The role also covers internal process improvements, system upgrades, and integration of key business systems to ensure cost-effective and efficient information system operations.
Principal Accountabilities

Collaboration & System Enhancement: Partner with end users, analysts, and administrators to improve workflows and leverage existing software features for business process optimization.

Technological Solutions & Automation: Analyze workflows, develop automation improvements, validate through testing, and support implementation.

Project Support: Provide technical input and develop project plans for effective coordination.

System Maintenance & Security: Ensure application performance, reliability, and security by maintaining, reviewing, and upgrading software.

Database Administration: Work with IT Architects and vendors to manage SQL databases using best practices.

Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve enterprise application functionality issues, providing second-level support.

System Configuration: Modify system parameters and scripts to resolve production issues and enable new features.

API & Software Development: Utilize APIs and SDKs for integration, coding, and scripting enhancements.

Reporting & Data Extraction: Generate system reports, data extracts, and forms for Credit Union operations.

Change Management & Testing: Conduct testing and research while adhering to change management protocols.

Documentation: Maintain up-to-date system specifications, technical procedures, and recovery documentation.

Backup & Recovery: Coordinate with network administrators to establish and test disaster recovery strategies.
Level III Accountabilities

Lead application administration across multiple operating systems and servers.

Provide expertise for critical applications such as OnBase, Fiserv Spectrum, and Data Warehouse.

Manage organizational data resources, ensuring security, availability, and recovery strategies.

Oversee application installation, tuning, and diagnostics, with strong proficiency in Windows server products.

Develop efficient disaster recovery strategies in collaboration with IT Architects.

Provide technical guidance to IS staff, acting as a team lead.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (or related field) and 5+ years of experience.

Without a degree: 10+ years of experience plus certifications (CBAP, MCTS Database, MCITP, or equivalent).

Proven experience maintaining and implementing Fiserv Spectrum or similar applications.
Skills:
-
Strong knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL, Oracle, Access).

Experience supporting applications in WAN environments.

Proficiency in Microsoft desktop apps, networking basics, and scripting/programming (Java, .NET, SQL, Perl a plus).

Knowledge of financial institution systems is preferred.

Certifications such as CBAP, MCTS, MCITP, MCSA, PMP are a plus.
