Your new role
The Manager, Corporate Accounting and Reporting plays a pivotal role in the Company’s Corporate Finance team as the key finance partner to the Head Office shared service functions, with responsibility for internal accounting, reporting and analysis for Shared Service Head Office departments (HR, IT, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.).
Corporate Accounting
- Manage the accounting, reporting and allocation functions for Head Office and Shared Service departments (HR, IT, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.);
- Manage accounting of treasury and cash related functions including bank reconciliations, investments and tax;
- Provide the senior management and business leaders with meaningful reporting and analysis to support decision-making and initiatives;
- Build and mentor the team to be process-minded and business-focused, and driven to become the trusted finance partner to the business units;
- Lead the monthly and quarterly forecast and annual Plan process for Head Office and Shared Service departments;
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide continuous training and mentorship to team including formal career development plans for team members;
- Key finance partner to the Head Office and Shared Service departments, meeting with the senior management to understand their finance needs and requirements as well as the liaison for any Finance Head Office department related initiatives;
- Analyze and evaluate business processes underlying the Corporate Finance streams and recommend actions to streamline processes, improve operational efficiencies, and identify opportunities for reducing operational costs, taking advantage of any possible synergies;
- Communicate Finance-related concepts and results efficiently and effectively, to senior management, maximizing impact and usage;
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels as a strategic business partner;
- Identify opportunities to add value either in terms of streamlining processes, improving quality of information presented to senior management or preparation of new analysis.
What you’ll need to succeed
Education & Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the pulp and paper industry or a related operations / manufacturing environment
- Accounting designation (CPA/CA) and related business courses
- Demonstrated success in financial analysis and reporting
Technical Competencies
- Advanced Excel and other MS Office application skills
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems and BI tools
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and drive multiple initiatives forward
- Strong focus on standardization and continuous improvement
- Exceptional analytical and reasoning skills
- Strong team player and relentless work ethic
- Strong understanding of complex accounting principles with the ability to interpret and communicate its relevance in financial reporting and analysis

- Strong awareness of key stakeholders combined with the ability to understand and adapt to their needs, in order to effectively support projects and initiatives
