About the Role
As a Registered Nurse with YesCare, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare within a correctional facility setting. This position demands strong clinical skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining safety, professionalism, and patient dignity at all times.
Key Responsibilities

Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide continuous CPR until properly relieved

Administer and document medications accurately in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)

Conduct physical assessments and health histories; refer patients to appropriate healthcare providers

Support physicians with patient evaluations and treatments; carry out and follow up on all orders

Educate inmates and correctional staff on various health-related topics

Collect and process laboratory samples, specimens, and cultures as ordered

Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control standards, and correctional facility regulations

Perform venipuncture and IV therapy

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain standard precautions

Carry out other nursing duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current and valid RN license in the state of New York

Active CPR certification

Knowledge of state laws and regulations governing nursing practice

Successful completion of initial and annual clinical competencies as assigned

Ability to pass a background check, security clearance, and drug screening

Preferred: One year of experience in a correctional healthcare setting

Preferred Certifications: BLS and active RN license
