Overview: ConsciousMuslim.org is seeking a compassionate and experienced Counsellor to join our team and provide therapeutic support to individuals and couples within the Muslim community. This role is crucial in empowering people to overcome emotional, psychological, and spiritual challenges. You will be responsible for delivering tailored counselling services, focusing on the mental and emotional wellbeing of clients while maintaining a deep understanding of their cultural and religious contexts. As part of our mission to provide accessible mental health services, you will design and implement creative and mindful therapy plans that inspire clients to lead healthy, balanced, and fulfilling lives. Your work will contribute to the overall wellbeing of our community, helping individuals and couples recover from various emotional and relational challenges. Conditions Treated: Depression Anxiety Addiction and Substance Abuse Relationship Conflicts Trauma and Abuse Self-Esteem and Identity Issues Grief and Loss Stress Management Spiritual and Existential Concerns Duties: Conduct individual and couples counselling sessions, focusing on emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing Develop and implement personalized care plans based on client needs, ensuring comprehensive support Maintain accurate client records using IT systems and ensure confidentiality Provide psychoeducation and tools for clients to manage their emotional health long-term Collaborate closely with other staff and professionals to ensure holistic client care Facilitate pre-admission, admission, and discharge processes, ensuring a seamless client experience Participate in team meetings, service audits, and reviews to drive continuous improvement and learning Assist in developing the counselling service, identifying areas for growth and improvement Contribute to community outreach, helping raise awareness about mental health and the benefits of therapy in the Muslim community Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Counselling, Psychology, or related field Registration with a recognised regulatory body such as BACP, UKCP, or an equivalent professional body A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in therapeutic care, particularly in individual and couples therapy Proven experience in developing and implementing care plans tailored to client needs Understanding of Islamic principles and the cultural sensitivities of working within the Muslim community Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support clients Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and manage client caseloads effectively Why Join Us?
