Heartland Card Games’s mission is to modernize and honor classic card games, bringing skill, strategy, and luck together to create meaningful connections. We serve hobbyists, collectors, strategists, and newcomers with premium, game-specific decks, concise rule cards, and strategy guides for five culturally significant games: Euchre, Gin, Hearts, Bid Whist, and Spades.
Project Overview
We’re preparing to soft-launch our first e-commerce site (Shopify) by March 2026. This mini-phase focuses on building a visually branded, mobile-optimized site consistent with our “accessible premium” positioning. You’ll help create brand assets, customize our Shopify theme, and ensure all design elements—from imagery to typography—are cohesive across devices.
Role Summary
The Creative Contractor will translate our brand direction into a polished Shopify experience. You’ll develop digital brand assets, apply them across the site, and ensure a consistent, engaging design that supports both brand ethos and marketing goals.
Key Responsibilities

Design and export final logo files (multiple formats & sizes for web)

Create a brand color palette, font pairings, and image style guide for site & social

Apply brand assets to Shopify theme (mobile, tablet, desktop optimization)

Create custom icons/illustrations for each featured game

Produce clean placeholder product imagery & homepage mockups

Style navigation menus, footers, and forms per brand guidelines

Format About page, “Our Games” section, and product pages for visual hierarchy
Qualifications

Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable design tools

Experience with Shopify theme customization & responsive design

Strong grasp of visual hierarchy, typography, and brand systems

Ability to collaborate with marketing & leadership roles
