About the Role

As a Customer Assistant at John Lewis, you’ll be at the heart of our in-store experience—delivering the kind of service and atmosphere that sets us apart. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining high shop standards, providing expert product advice, and ensuring our customers feel truly valued at every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, helpful, and tailored customer service throughout the buying journey

  • Use your product knowledge and sales training to drive sales and enhance the customer experience

  • Maintain excellent shop-floor standards including cleanliness, merchandising, and product availability

  • Support general shop operations including tills, stock replenishment, and price ticketing

  • Proactively identify and act on areas for improvement

  • Support accurate stock management to protect profit

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Basic IT literacy

  • Excellent verbal communication and people skills

  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer service

Desirable (But Not Required)

  • Previous customer-facing retail experience

  • Merchandising and product display experience
