Key Responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative

Handle customer service inquiries via phone, internet, or written correspondence.

Engage and educate members on their health plans, tools, and resources.

Document and track contacts with members, providers, and sponsors.

Resolve claims, complaints, grievances, and appeals.

Explain members’ rights, plan benefits, and policy details.

Support providers with credentialing and re-credentialing.

Review claim histories and ensure accuracy in benefits tracking.

Assist with litigation requests, trend reports, and audit preparation.

Create reports, letters, and spreadsheets to support customer needs.
What You Need to Succeed as a Customer Service Representative
To excel as a Customer Service Representative, you should bring:

At least 1 year of customer service experience.

High-speed internet (wired, 25mbps+) for remote work.

Availability Monday–Friday, 8:35 AM–5:05 PM or 9:30 AM–6:00 PM EST.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications for Customer Service Representative Roles

1+ years of healthcare customer service experience.

Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and medical terminology.

Experience working with seniors or in a production-driven environment.
Pay, Hours, and Benefits for Customer Service Representatives

Pay Range: $17.00 – $31.30 per hour (based on experience and location).
